“Katun Ornice”, or shepherds’ settlement, (“Durmitor” katun) is located in the village of Ornice, in the heart of the picturesque nature of Durmitor National Park, on the Žabljak - Trsa - Plužine road and is a perfect example of a traditional Montenegrin katun.
“Katun Ornice”, or shepherds’ settlement, (“Durmitor” katun) is located in the village of Ornice, in the heart of the picturesque nature of Durmitor National Park, on the Žabljak - Trsa - Plužine road and is a perfect example of a traditional Montenegrin katun. The katun consists of several small cabins and bungalows for accommodation with basic furniture. The biggest cabin is also a tasting room furnished in the traditional style and a restaurant where visitors can try Montenegrin specialties. The katun also has several structures for cattle, horses and poultry. The visitors of this household can participate in farm chores such as working in the garden, taking care of the animals, preparing food, mowing and gathering hay, etc. A special attraction of this household are the tourist tours on horseback.
