The Komovi Nature Park was named after the Komovi mountain massif, which is one of the most impressive mountain massifs in Montenegro and the Dinaric mountain system. Komovi represents a separate massif of Montenegrin mountains and is the most interesting area, both in its composition and shape among the mountains of the Alpine, Dinaric, and Sharr systems. It is one of the highest mountains in the Dinarides. The massif is a high-altitude, semicircular-shaped massif whose altitude reaches up to 2490 m. Favorable climatic and other ecological conditions have enabled the development of a diverse and rich flora and fauna. The area is dominated by mountain and high mountain habitats with tall pine and beech forests. Komovi is one of the highest mountains in Montenegro with an average altitude of 1900 meters. The highest peaks are Kučki Kom (2487 m), Ljevoriječki Kom (2469 m), and Vasojevički Kom (2460 m).
