Regional Park Dragisnica and Komarnica

Description

The regional park Dragisnica and Komarnica is located in the extreme northwest of the Municipality of Šavnik and borders the National Park Durmitor. This area connects the Durmitor massif with Vojnik and is very intersected by the canyon valleys of Komarnica and Grabovica. The park area is a zone of low, medium, and high mountains and ridges with canyon and gorge valleys, dominated by the canyon valleys of Komarnica and Grabovica. In the area of the Park, the presence of a significant number of plant species and plant communities formed in pronounced high mountain conditions has been determined. The habitats of this area are unique in the Durmitor massif, which otherwise has a total of 1600 plant species. In terms of forest richness and diversity, the following forest communities stand out: sessile and black hornbeam forests, black hornbeam and black ash forests, mountain beech forests, beech and fir forests, subalpine beech forests, and juniper pine curves.
